A legacy is something transmitted by, or received from, an ancestor or predecessor, or from the past. It may be a gift by will, especially of money or other personal property.  Synonyms include bequest, birthright, heritage and inheritance.

Our Founding Fathers  left us an inheritance worth more than earthly wealth.  They created a legacy of freedom and opportunity.   They believed that all men are created equal and have the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Traditionally, as part of the American value system, each generation has believed that it is their patriotic duty to sacrifice for future generations.  Sadly, this generation believes in sacrificing future generations for their own prosperity, security, and happiness.   We have run up fifteen trillion dollars in debt that must be paid by yet unborn Americans.   It is morally reprehensible.   We are stealing from our children and children’s children.  We are severely restricting their liberties and prosperity.  

As Americans, we must put an end to this “pay it backwards” Ponzi scheme.   Professional politicians are incapable of stopping their spending addiction.  The ruling elite buy votes and reward their cronies with borrowed and stolen money.  

It is up to “We the People” to stop them.  The American Legacy Alliance is a covenant partnership of patriot Americans who are committed to stopping and reversing this outrageous generational theft.  It is up to us to preserve the American Legacy for future generations.   We must return to limited constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and individual liberty & responsibility.

The United States of America is at a crossroads. We The People must choose between the vision of our Founding Fathers and the worldview of the progressive ruling class. If the republic is to continue, literally millions of patriots must rise up and ---

Educate themselves and encourage their friends, neighbors, and relatives to do the same.

 Actions must be taken not just words spoken. We must contribute our time, energy, and money.

 Renew the zeal and optimism that once fueled the American Dream. Opportunity, prosperity and liberty are still available if we just believe and commit ourselves.      

 National unity, sovereignty, and strength must be our battle cry. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness must be our cause.

The Republic is under attack from enemies both foreign and domestic. What will you do to stop them? Can we do any less than the signers of The Declaration of Independence who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor ? They had courage, gravitas, and determination. Do we?

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is one of the most widely respected research and educational institutes in the world. As a think tank, it formulates and promotes conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. The Heritage Foundation offers policies and perspectives on every major issue that's important to conservatives. With its "A" list of scholars, the foundation "is committed to building an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and civil society flourish."

The Cato Institute is one of the nation's leading authorities on public policy and its insight is guided by a strong moral purpose and "the principles of limited government, free markets, individual liberty, and peace." Its mission statement is clear: "The Institute will use the most effective means to originate, advocate, promote, and disseminate applicable policy proposals that create free, open, and civil societies in the United States and throughout the world." The institute commissions studies, books and briefings from a variety of industry professionals. It site, Cato.org, is an excellent place for conservatives to educate themselves and investigate political issues of every stripe.

Townhall.com was launched in 1995 as the first conservative web community. It was the first major investment in online political activism. In 2005, Townhall.com split off from The Heritage Foundation to expand its scope and enhance its mission to inform, empower and mobilize citizens for political change. Townhall.com pulls together news and information from its 120 different "partner organizations," political commentary and analysis from over 100 different columnists. Townhall.com is designed to amplify conservative voices in America’s political debates just as the 2008 election heats up.

 RenewAmerica.us

RenewAmerica is a conservative organization founded in 2002 to show grassroots support for Alan Keyes. Although its developers consider it a "Christian political vehicle," its religious aspects are far less prominent than its focus on returning the nation to its traditional foundations. Its mission statement underscores this point: "The mission of RenewAmerica is to expand the influence of America's grassroots — both among individual citizens and among principled groups — in the cause of preserving our nation upon its founding ideals, specifically those in the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, as well as those derived from biblical principles." For conservatives seeking an alternative media source, RenewAmerica.us is it.

Like the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute, the American Enterprise Institute is a public policy research organization, which sponsors research, studies and books on the top economic and political issues facing the nation. What separates AEI from other public policy organizations is its unabashed conservative approach. According to its web site, AEI.org, the organization's purposes "are to defend the principles and improve the institutions of American freedom and democratic capitalism--limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, political accountability, and open debate." For a conservative, this site is a trove of pure gold.

FRC.org

Family Research Council (FRC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the promotion of marriage, family, religious liberty and the sanctity of life.  For nearly 29 years, FRC has championed these core values by shaping public policy and public debate in the White House, Congress, federal agencies, the courts, many states and internationally.  Strategically located in Washington, D.C., FRC's team of seasoned experts promotes these core values through: policy research and development, grassroots mobilization, mentoring the next generation of conservative leaders, public education on Capitol Hill and in the media, fostering relationships with elected officials, building coalitions with key policymakers, and testifying before Congress. In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, the nation of Israel rallied together in a grassroots movement to help rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and thus restore stability, safety, and a promising future to that great city. We have chosen this historical concept of "rebuilding the walls" to represent allegorically the call for citizen involvement in rebuilding our nation's foundations.
